NexCore to Break Ground on Women’s Care Florida Women’s Health Center in Tampa

The Westshore District is the largest commercial market in the Tampa Bay region and the center of activity not only for the region but also for Florida’s west coast. It has become Florida’s largest office market with 4,000 businesses and nearly 94,000 employees, as well as a vibrant, 24/7 community that boasts more than 250 restaurants, two upscale shopping centers, more than 30 hotels and growing residential neighborhoods.

Now, Women’s Care Florida (WCF), a major specialty women’s health physician group, is taking steps to better serve the healthcare needs of women of the greater Tampa Bay area with a new three-story, 63,289 square foot sub-specialty center that will offer comprehensive services while acting as a hub for other WCF care centers in west and central Florida. The center will combine the latest innovation in healthcare with exceptional patient centered care. Services to be offered include vast array of women’s specialty health services, such as maternal-fetal medicine, gynecology, urogynecology and ambulatory surgical services to its patients in a high-growth area in Tampa. It will also feature imaging, infusion, a patient education center, a breast center, counseling and supportive care, and a high-risk fetal surgery program.

When Denver-based NexCore Group breaks ground on the new Women’s Care Florida Women’s Health Center today, it will begin the process of delivering a new women’s specialty center employing the most sophisticated delivery models.

“WCF is a high-quality, high-performing organization that has served the women of the greater Tampa Bay area for over two decades,” said Ignacio Armas, M.D., Chairman, Board of Directors, WCF.

“As part of our mission we are committed to improving the lives of women every single day.  Our vision is to expand services to provide comprehensive care and deliver an exceptional patient centered experience, utilizing innovation and a team based model of care. The WCF sub-specialty center will provide advanced and comprehensive care for women of all ages. It will provide a truly unique experience to our patients and their families.”

“WCF is committed to improving women’s health and we are excited to build a state of the art facility,” said Women’s Care Florida CEO, Andrew Mintz.

“This women’s health center will combine personalized care with advances in healthcare technology allowing us to continue to grow as the regional leader for providing high-quality medical services.  The facility will offer a wide range of services from our team of experienced healthcare professionals who are committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care to women throughout the Tampa Bay area,” he said.

“We’re very excited to bring the best of 21st century women’s care and surgical services to this vibrant and growing area of Tampa,” says NexCore Managing Principal Todd Varney. “Our team has collaborated to design a world-class outpatient facility that offers the convenience and top-quality healthcare WCF is known for delivering.”

NexCore is providing comprehensive real estate services – strategic planning, site selection and acquisition, development, ownership, financing, and property/asset management services –  for the project, which will be 100 percent leased by WCF.

The build-to-suit, off-campus women’s health center will be developed southeast of the intersection of West Cypress and North Sherrill Streets, strategically located near U.S. Interstate 275 and Florida State Road 589.

The WCF women’s health center’s anticipated opening is October 2017.
