National healthcare real estate developer NexCore Group has announced the grand opening of CHI St. Vincent Arkansas Neuroscience Institute (ANI), adjacent to CHI Health’s North Little Rock hospital campus at 6020 Warden Road in Sherwood.

The 42,133 square foot specialty medical office building (MOB) offers comprehensive neurological surgical and treatment services as well as an Education and Research Center. The MOB held its ribbon cutting ceremony and opened its doors to patients June 14.

Todd Varney, the Chief Development Officer and Managing Partner of Denver-based NexCore, said the new facility is especially unique because of its contribution to excellence in the highly specialized science of neurology and neurosurgery.

“NexCore is proud to be a part of the creation of this international healthcare destination for those in need of advanced, complex neurological care,” Mr. Varney said. “The CHI St. Vincent Arkansas Neuroscience Institute provides not only treatment outcomes for neurological conditions but fosters great advances in the educational and research opportunities in the field. We are so excited to see this world-class facility open its doors.”

Dr. Ali F. Krisht, Director of ANI, who stands among the top 1 percent of neurosurgeons in the nation and performs more than 1,000 intricate surgeries a year, says the new facility – which includes a clinic, cranium lab, a 150-seat auditorium and physician offices – will be a gamechanger for all involved.

“Neurosurgery as a field is very unknown. This center will become an oasis for all the thinkers and people who deal with neurosurgical problems to come learn with us and at the same time contribute to our learning,” Dr. Krisht remarked. “This is not just a new building, but a beacon of light for neurosurgeons around the world.”

The new clinic will treat the entire spectrum of neurological disorders, providing services such as skull base surgery, vascular neurosurgery, neuro-oncology spine and spinal cord surgery, epilepsy surgery, and surgery for movement disorders. In addition to its 3,767 square foot cranium lab, 3,600 square foot clinical space and 3,540 square foot auditorium, the facility features 14,000 square feet of physician office space, giving independent medical providers the opportunity to grow their practices.

NexCore provided site selection, physician alignment and development services for the CHI St. Vincent ANI project. The MOB is also a demonstration of NexCore’s ability to deliver “speed-to-market” for its clients, as ground was broken in April 2018 and the complex facility was delivered to CHI only 13 months later.

Joining NexCore for the project were TAGGART/Architects and Clark Contractors LLC.
