Denver-based NexCore Group today announced healthcare development expert John P. Marshall has joined the firm as its Senior Vice President, Business Development.
In his new role, Mr. Marshall will oversee the expansion of NexCore’s development platform of outpatient facilities, medical office buildings (MOBs) and other related facilities for health systems and hospitals throughout the country. He will also open a new office for the firm in Indianapolis, where he will be based.
Todd Varney, NexCore Managing Director Development and Acquisitions, says he is thrilled with the appointment.

Mr. Marshall echoed these sentiments regarding the opportunity with NexCore.

Mr. Marshall has held key positions in commercial real estate during his 21-year career, focusing exclusively on healthcare for the past 14 years. Most recently, he drove business development strategies and new client relationships throughout the United States for the Duke Realty healthcare team as its Vice President, Healthcare Strategy and Development. He holds a degree from DePauw University, and also holds an Indiana Salesperson’s Real Estate License. He is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) and has served on several industry boards, including the advisory board of the Healthcare Facilities Symposium and Expo. He has served as a speaker and panelist at numerous healthcare industry events, including Becker’s Hospital Review Annual Conference; HFMA ANI; The Healthcare Facility Symposium and Expo; and the Healthcare Strategy Institute’s Summit for Hospital and Physician Executive Strategy in addition to various healthcare real estate specific conferences. He also served as a member of the St. Vincent Hospital Foundation board for six years, the largest hospital in the Ascension family, and is active in his church leadership as both a Deacon and an Elder.
Mr. Marshall resides in Indianapolis with his wife of 20 years, Lynn, a son and two daughters.
