Experience Senior Living Development (ESLD), a NexCore-owned company, announced today that it plans to develop a 103-unit seniors housing community in Atlee, an unincorporated sub-city in the greater Richmond Metro. Construction has already commenced.
Experience Senior Living at Richmond will be developed on an 8.34-acre parcel at the intersection of Atlee Station Road and Atlee Road in Atlee, in central Hanover County. The new senior community will be ideally located just north of the Interstate Highway 95/295 interchange, providing easy access to all points in the Greater Richmond area.
ESLD’s latest development is the first that the Denver-based national real estate development company, specializing in seniors housing communities, will operate.
ESL President Phill Barklow says Experience Senior Living at Richmond will feature 79 assisted living and 24 memory care units and will offer conveniences and connectivity in a vibrant and desirable setting to its residents and their families, as well as its providers and team members.
“Experience Senior Living at Richmond is a community where our future residents, families and team members can enjoy life together in a well-appointed club like environment,” Mr. Barklow says. “The differentiating feature of this community is that our award-winning team will also fulfill an operational role, dedicated to our vision of providing the experience of a connected lifestyle where our residents and their families can gather, eat, drink, be social and thrive in a wonderful environment that also has world class healthcare services.”
The Atlee community is a desirable place to work and play, close to such conveniences as national and regional service providers, franchises, and local shopping, including a nearby Kroger Marketplace retail center.
The design of Experience Senior Living at Richmond features the aesthetic of a modern farmhouse, with a respectful nod to the character of the surrounding neighborhood and history of the market. Luxury amenities and exterior services include outdoor dining; Assisted Living and Memory Care Gardens; Bocce Ball Court, walking paths, sunroom, and covered porch. Interior features include a card room; art room; library; spa; fitness center with HUR equipment; theater; salon; live piano music, and coffee bar with café seating.
Assisted living accommodations will range from 396-square-foot studios up to 1,063-square-foot, two-bedroom units, with memory care studio units ranging from 321 to 376 square feet. Construction has started, with a grand opening anticipated in Q3, 2023.
