Lindsey McGuire

My college mentor, Karen Robertson, used to say, “The greatest gifts in life are the things you didn’t plan. The interruptions. The coincidences. Be available to them.”

I was born into a family-owned and operated black angus cattle farm in an Ozarks village called Plato, MO (population 74.) Our farm was just outside the Fort Leonard Wood military base. You might know it as “Fort Lost-in-the-Woods.” The generous Missouri landscape provided generations of opportunity for families like mine. The Army base offered people, cultures and really, really good food from all around the world. 

I left Plato at 17 to pursue an education at the University of Missouri. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree, I spent 6 seasons working in professional baseball at both the minor league and major league levels.

Upon settling in Denver, I began a career in commercial real estate. My experience ranges from construction to brokerage to development. My favorite part about business development is bringing health systems, physician groups and industry partners together to provide healthcare access to those in need.

Outside of the office, you can find me experimenting in the kitchen or running along Cherry Creek with my retired racer greyhound, Winslow. We support her furry friends through the Friends of Retired Greyhounds and Daphne Legacy Tour foundations. 

One truth about leaving a small town is that anywhere you go, every face is unfamiliar. Each step of my career was championed by the support of people I met en route. Where I was born, my family, and who I met along the way were all coincidences…and Karen was right. They are the greatest gifts of my life.
