DETROIT, March 5, 2019 – Beaumont Health has locked down a location for a new outpatient center in Lenox Township set to open in 2020.
The site is in the Bay River Marketplace shopping center next to a Meijer store close to the intersection of I-94 and 26 Mile Road, according to a Tuesday news release.
The health system is in the process of purchasing the property with plans to close on the site later this month, Beaumont spokesman Mark Geary said in an email. He declined to disclose the purchase price due to confidentiality agreements.
The news follows a previous announcement in September, when the Southfield-based health system said it was looking to break ground on two projects in Macomb and Wayne counties this year to construct one-stop facilities for outpatient services. Beaumont previously stated that it plans to build structures up to 120,000 square feet apiece, to allow room for more expansion to meet population growth in the areas, Crain’s reported.
Beaumont is still in the process of identifying a Wayne County property and hopes to have a decision “within the next few months,” according to Geary.
“We are thrilled to offer much-needed health care services in Macomb County,” CEO John Fox said in a written statement. “We selected the site because of its convenient location close to major thoroughfares in a growing and thriving community.”
The planned 105,000-120,000 square-foot center will offer primary and specialty care physicians, emergency care, imaging, outpatient surgery, cancer services, physical therapy, among other services.
Beaumont has retained Denver-based NexCore Group to oversee financing, development, leasing, property management and asset management, the release says. Chicago-based HKS Architects Inc., which has offices in Northville, is the architect on the project, Crain’s reported in September.
Patients and care providers can access test results through an online portal, and will be able to schedule appointments online for Beaumont services and physicians on the campus, the release says.
Leasing opportunities are available for independent physicians and groups looking to open offices at the center.
