Officials of NexCore Group and Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) recently gathered in Elkhorn to celebrate the groundbreaking for the future CHI Health Clinic Elkhorn.
CHI will be the sole tenant in the one-story, 28,700-square-foot clinic to be located at 1625 North 205th Street. It will offer primary care, physical therapy, behavioral health services and specialty care, as well as imaging services, a laboratory, and a retail pharmacy. In addition, it will provide space for visiting specialists, and the 3.62-acre site will provide parking for 177 vehicles.
Englewood, Colo.-based CHI is part of the Chicago-based health system CommonSpirit, which has hospitals and care centers in 21 states, and was formed in 2019 through an alignment of CHI and Dignity Health.
Todd Varney, chief development officer and managing partner of Denver-based NexCore, a national healthcare real estate (HRE) developer, says the firm is blessed that CHI Health has provided the opportunity to break ground on its eighth facility with CHI and its fifth with regional health network CHI Health.
“The state of healthcare is better in Nebraska and Western Iowa because of the commitment and investment CHI Health/CommonSpirit has made to this region. We are privileged to be a part of that commitment,” says Mr. Varney. “We also want to thank the City of Elkhorn for helping create a smooth transition, getting all the entitlements and approvals in place. It’s clear you want to bring high level healthcare to your community.”
CHI Health is pleased to be providing access to comprehensive healthcare to Elkhorn. “I’m so excited that we are putting a tangible mark on the way that we care for our patients,” remarked Keith Jankuski, CHI Health Clinic President and COO. “None of this work gets done by ourselves, and we have an excellent partner with NexCore. We are so excited to have them as part of the project.”
NexCore will own the new CHI Health Clinic Elkhorn building, which is scheduled to be completed in summer 2023.
Rounding out the development team is HGA, headquartered in Minneapolis, and Omaha-based Darland Construction Co.
