Harrison Street and NexCore Group Acquire Ambulatory Surgery Center property in Mesa, Ariz.

National healthcare real estate developer NexCore Group has acquired a Phoenix-area ambulatory surgery center (ASC) property in partnership with the Chicago-based investment management firm Harrison Street.

Built in 2000, the one-story, 11,308-square-foot medical office building (MOB) occupies a 1.17-acre lot at 2626 E. University Drive in the southeast Phoenix suburb of Mesa.

The off-campus ASC will be occupied and operated in a joint venture between Banner Health and Atlas Healthcare Partners, a Phoenix-based developer and manager of outpatient surgery centers.

“We are pleased to add this mission-critical, hospital-affiliated asset to our portfolio,” says Todd Varney, chief development officer and managing partner of Denver-based NexCore. “This facility both adds to our growing portfolio of Phoenix-area investments and expands our already productive relationship with Banner Health.”

Harrison Street and NexCore Group also recently broke ground for the three-story, 127,243-square-foot Banner Health Center in the northwest Phoenix suburb of Glendale.
